Wondering about the cost of a "card art" piece? Wonder no more. Completed "cards" that are not commissioned have no set prices. I will listen to offers, but I have not determined the outcome of those pieces. Want a piece commissioned? Here is some information that hits the frequently asked questions.
Card Art Price Information
*Each price is different, and is based on the card/image that you choose to recreate. Some images have fans in the background, multiple players, or excessive amounts of script. Obviously, those things take more time to complete than others, and this leads to a price increase. Solid backgrounds/borders are cheaper. I charge by the hour. Here’s how it works:
1) You send me the image/card you want me to recreate. You can just tell me the card/set if it is an actual sportscard.
2) I estimate how many hours it will take me to finish. The pieces have been taking between 30-40 hours to complete.
3) We multiply those amount of hours times $20 per hour.
4) There is a $25 materials surcharge (frame, glue, cards) added to the work price.
5) Shipping to the US is FREE, and it will be coming via FedEx or UPS.
6) A non-refundable deposit of 20% (total price) is required for me to begin work.
7) Once I finish, I will email pictures of the piece to you. If you unhappy or unsatisfied, I will either destroy the undesired piece and start over, or the buyer can back out of the remaining 80%.
8) The piece will ship after the remaining balance has been paid.

I truly appreciate you taking the time to consider a piece of “card art”. For your investment in the art - this is what you will be receiving from me: A piece of art that is a true 1/1. I will NOT recreate any card/picture more than ONCE. I will NOT take an image and make subtle changes to accommodate this rule. Therefore, every piece will be totally different and unique. In this way, I am protecting you – the person that is commissioning me. Your card will be the only one of its kind.
While I obviously cannot sit for 30-40 consecutive hours to complete a piece – I will do the best I can to make the turn around time as fast as possible. The piece will be well-packed to ensure that it arrives exactly the way it was packed. I will also check my email daily so that any questions/comments/concerns can be addressed immediately. There will not be any waiting or wondering by you. If requested, I can email pictures as I am working, so that you can see the progress.
Finally, if you haven’t already noticed – this is something I take very seriously. In these tough economic times, I know your money is just as hard to come by as mine. Therefore, I will make sure you are satisfied. The work will be impeccable. The work will arrive in a custom frame that I build and cover with 1987 Topps borders. You will be constantly updated throughout the piece (possibly with pictures to show progress). Finally, you will have something that no other collector will ever have. From this, I will have the graciousness of knowing that I have a piece of art in your home, studio, office, or store. I’m looking forward to hearing from you.
